Exact pixels, without distorting the picture
Many places ask for an image of one precise size: 600 × 600 pixels for some visa and exam photos, 1080 × 1080 for an Instagram post, 1920 × 1080 for a slide or a YouTube thumbnail background, 3000 × 3000 for an album cover, 128 × 128 for an emoji or an icon. Resizing by percentage never lands on those numbers, and resizing both sides by hand stretches faces. Here you type the two numbers and choose how to handle the difference in shape.
Fill and crop keeps the picture in proportion, fills the whole frame and trims what sticks out on the sides, centred. Fit the whole picture keeps everything and adds white bars (transparent ones for PNG and WebP). Stretch fills the frame exactly but distorts the image, which is only fine for textures and backgrounds. Each file keeps its format, several images can be done at once, and nothing is uploaded: the resizing happens in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to 600 × 600 pixels?
Select the image, type 600 for the width and 600 for the height and keep Fill and crop the edges. Click Resize image: the result is exactly 600 × 600 pixels, with the sides trimmed if the photo was not square.
Will my photo be distorted?
Not with Fill and crop or Fit the whole picture: both keep the proportions. Only Stretch to fill changes the shape of what is in the picture.
Can I make an image bigger?
Yes, type larger numbers. The image is scaled up smoothly, but it cannot gain detail it never had, so a small photo enlarged a lot will look soft.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The images are resized in your browser on your own device and are never sent to a server.
