From a photo of a logo to a clean vector
Logos often survive only as a JPG pulled from an old website or email, and hand drawings and signatures arrive as phone photos. JPG compression leaves faint blotches around every edge, so the tracer first evens out those artefacts, then groups the picture into its main colours and draws each area as smooth vector paths. The result is an SVG that prints sharp at any size and opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Canva and cutting software.
For a scanned sketch, a signature or a stamp, choose Black and white: the paper turns transparent and the ink becomes one solid shape, ready for a Cricut, a laser engraver or a vinyl cutter. For a colour logo, Logo mode keeps its brand colours flat and clean. Photos turn into a stylised poster with flat colour areas, which can be a nice effect but is not a copy of the photo.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a JPG to SVG?
Select the JPG, pick the type of picture and click Convert to SVG. The image is traced into vector paths in your browser and the SVG downloads in seconds.
Why does the SVG have fewer details than my JPG?
Tracing turns areas of similar colour into flat shapes, which is what makes vectors sharp and light. Fine textures, gradients and noise are simplified. For logos and drawings that is what you want; for photos, keep the JPG.
Can I turn a signature into an SVG?
Yes. Take a well-lit photo of the signature on white paper and choose Black and white. The paper disappears and the ink becomes a vector shape you can place on documents or engrave.
Does the SVG have a transparent background?
In Black and white mode, yes: only the dark shapes are kept. In Logo and Photo mode the background colour of the JPG stays as a shape, since a JPG has no transparency to begin with.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The tracing runs in your browser on your own device and nothing is sent to a server.
