Your ebook as a printable PDF
EPUB is the standard ebook format, but it needs an ebook reader app, while a PDF opens anywhere and can be printed, highlighted or sent to a tablet for notes. The converter reads the book in your browser in its reading order: the cover, every chapter starting on a new page, headings, paragraphs, italics and bold, lists, quotes, tables, pictures and links, with page numbers at the bottom. The PDF contains real text, so it can be searched and copied.
An EPUB has no fixed pages, so the text is laid out on A4 or Letter pages with a book-like serif font; the page count depends on the size you choose. Books protected with DRM (bought from Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo or Google Play) are encrypted and cannot be converted; this works with DRM-free books, such as those from Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks or many publishers and authors.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert ebooks with DRM?
No. Books with DRM copy protection are encrypted, and removing it is not something this tool does. DRM-free EPUB files, like public-domain books or books sold without DRM, convert normally.
Will the pictures and cover be included?
Yes. The cover and the pictures inside the chapters are placed in the PDF, scaled to fit the page. Fonts embedded in the ebook are replaced by a standard serif font with real, selectable text.
How many pages will the PDF have?
It depends on the length of the book and the page size, since an EPUB has no fixed pages. A typical 300-page novel gives a few hundred A4 pages. Each chapter starts on a new page, as in a printed book.
Can I read the PDF on a Kindle?
Yes, Kindle devices and apps open PDF files, as do tablets, phones and computers without any extra app. For a small e-reader screen, choose a smaller page size later in your reader app if the text looks small.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. The file is read and converted inside your browser on your own device, so contracts, CVs, reports and letters are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Once the page has loaded it keeps working even without an internet connection.
