Photos of documents
Turn photos of papers into a PDF and make the text searchable.
Why iPhone files do not open everywhere
To save space, iPhones record photos as HEIC, videos as HEVC in a MOV file and voice memos as M4A. Apple devices open them, but many Windows PCs, websites, upload forms and Android phones do not. You can switch the camera to Most Compatible in Settings for new photos, but the ones you already have stay HEIC.
The tools on this page convert those files on the iPhone itself, in Safari, or on any computer. Choose several photos at once from the Photos picker; they are converted in your browser and never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert HEIC to JPG on an iPhone?
Open HEIC to JPG in Safari, tap Select and choose the photos. They are converted on the phone and saved as JPGs in Downloads or Files. Several photos are packed in a ZIP that Files opens with a tap.
Why will my iPhone video not play on Windows?
iPhone videos are usually HEVC inside a MOV file, which older Windows players do not support. MOV to MP4 with the Most compatible option converts the clip to H.264 MP4, the format every player, website and editor accepts.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Every conversion happens in your browser, so your photos, videos and recordings stay on your device.
