Where OGG files come from
OGG is an open audio format used by messaging apps, games and many Linux and Android programs. Voice messages saved from WhatsApp or Telegram are often OGG or Opus files, which is why they will not play in some media players, car systems or editing programs, and why many websites refuse them as attachments.
Turning them into MP3 solves the problem: the result plays on every device and can be added to a video, a presentation or an email. For voice messages, 128 kbps is more than enough; for music, choose 192 or 320 kbps.

How do I convert a WhatsApp voice message to MP3?

What is the difference between OGG and Opus?
OGG is the container and Opus or Vorbis is the sound format inside it. Voice notes usually use Opus, music and games often use Vorbis. This tool accepts both, whether the file ends in .ogg, .oga or .opus.
Why will my OGG file not play?
