CSV to Excel in 3 steps

  1. Select your CSV files, or drop them on the box.
  2. Click Convert to Excel; the separator and encoding are detected.
  3. Download the XLSX file and open it in Excel or Google Sheets.

Why double-clicking a CSV goes wrong

When Excel opens a CSV directly it often guesses badly: accented letters turn into symbols like é, phone numbers and postcodes lose their leading zero, long IDs become 1.23E+15, and everything ends up in one column because the separator was a semicolon. Converting to a real XLSX file first avoids all of that.

The converter detects the separator (comma, semicolon or tab) and the text encoding, keeps values with leading zeros or more than 15 digits as text, and turns normal numbers into real numbers you can add up. Each column also gets a width that fits its content, so nothing is hidden behind ##### when you open the file.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert CSV to XLSX?

Select one or more CSV files and click Convert to Excel. Each CSV becomes an XLSX workbook that opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice with the columns already split.

Why do accents look wrong when I open my CSV in Excel?

Excel often reads CSV files with the wrong text encoding. This converter detects whether the file is UTF-8 or the older Windows encoding and stores the text correctly in the XLSX, so á, ñ, ü and ç show properly.

Will leading zeros and long numbers be kept?

Yes. Values such as 00123, phone numbers starting with 0 and IDs longer than 15 digits are stored as text, so Excel cannot drop the zeros or round the last digits.

Can I convert several CSV files at once?

Yes. Select up to 20 CSV files and each one becomes its own XLSX file, downloaded together in a ZIP. To put them in one workbook as separate sheets, convert them and then use Merge Excel.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded to a server?

No. The file is read and converted inside your browser on your own device, so customer lists, prices and payroll data are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Once the page has loaded it works even offline.
