PNG or JPG for your PDF pages?
PNG is lossless: it keeps every pixel exactly as rendered, so letters, thin lines and flat colours stay perfectly clean. That makes it the right choice for contracts, invoices, slides, charts and anything with text. JPG is better for pages that are mostly photos, because it produces much smaller files.
Pages are rendered on a white background, the way they look when printed. A PNG at 300 DPI of an A4 page is roughly 2480 × 3508 pixels, sharp enough to print or to zoom into details.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF to PNG without losing quality?
PNG never loses detail once a page is rendered, so the only thing that matters is the resolution. Choose 300 DPI for print-quality images with crisp small text, or 150 DPI for images that will only be viewed on a screen.
Should I convert my PDF to PNG or JPG?
Use PNG for pages with text, tables, diagrams or screenshots, because edges stay sharp. Use PDF to JPG for pages that are mostly photographs, because the files are several times smaller and the difference is not visible.
Can I get a PNG with a transparent background?
Not with this tool. Pages are rendered on white, which is how a PDF is meant to look and print. Most PDFs have no real transparency, so a transparent version would usually show dark text on nothing.
How many pages can I convert?
All pages of the PDF are converted, up to the 50 MB free file limit. Every page becomes one PNG and you download them together in a single ZIP file, named in page order.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Once the page has loaded you could even disconnect from the internet and it would keep working.
