VCF to CSV in 3 steps
- Select your VCF file (or several), or drop them on the box.
- Choose who the CSV is for: Excel, another app, Google Contacts or Outlook.
- Click Convert to CSV and download the file.
One CSV, four layouts
Different programs expect different columns. For Excel, the CSV uses the separator your Excel expects (comma or semicolon, depending on your region), a UTF-8 marker so accents display correctly, and protects numbers like 0612345678 or +34612345678 so Excel neither strips the zero nor shows 3.46E+10. Other apps get a plain UTF-8 CSV with commas.
The Google Contacts layout writes the exact column names of Google's own export (First Name, Phone 1 - Label, Phone 1 - Value…), and the Outlook layout uses Outlook's (Mobile Phone, Business Phone, Home Street…), so the import maps every field without you matching columns by hand.
Frequently asked questions
Which layout should I choose?
Keep Excel to look at or edit the list. To move contacts into Gmail or an Android phone, choose Google Contacts and import the file at contacts.google.com. For Outlook.com or Outlook on Windows, choose Outlook. Plain CSV suits CRMs, newsletter tools and other apps.
Why do phone numbers lose the leading zero when I open a CSV in Excel?
Excel treats anything that looks like a number as a number. In the Excel layout those phone numbers are written in a form Excel keeps as text, so they stay as on your phone. For a spreadsheet with no such tricks, use VCF to Excel instead.
Can Outlook import a VCF with many contacts?
Outlook for Windows opens only the first contact of a VCF that holds many. Converting to CSV with the Outlook layout and importing it with File, Open & Export, Import/Export brings in all of them in one go.
What happens to contacts with several phone numbers?
Each number is kept. The Excel and plain layouts add columns (Mobile 2, Work phone…), the Google layout adds Phone 2, Phone 3 and so on, and the Outlook layout has fixed slots: numbers that do not fit go into Notes instead of being dropped.
Are my contacts uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and converted by your browser on your own device, so names, numbers and addresses are never sent to a server or stored anywhere. That matters when the list holds other people's personal data.
