CBZ to PDF in 3 steps
- Select your CBZ comics, or drop them on the box. Several volumes at once are fine.
- Click Convert to PDF. Every page is added in reading order.
- Download the PDF, or one PDF per comic in a ZIP, and open it on any device.
A CBZ is a ZIP of pictures, and a PDF opens everywhere
A CBZ file is simply a ZIP archive with one picture per page, usually JPEG, sometimes PNG or WebP, named so that a comic reader can put them in order. Comic apps understand it, but most PDF readers, school tablets, Kindle and Kobo devices and printing services do not. Converting to PDF gives you a single file that opens in any viewer and keeps every page together.
The converter sorts pages the way a person reads them, so 2 comes before 10 even when the files are not padded with zeros, and a single cover picture goes first. JPEG pages are copied into the PDF byte for byte and plain PNG pages keep their compressed data, so nothing is re-compressed and the quality is exactly that of the comic. Each page keeps its own size, so double-page spreads stay wide. Hidden Mac folders, thumbnails and ComicInfo.xml are left out.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting CBZ to PDF lower the image quality?
No. JPEG pages go into the PDF exactly as they are and PNG pages keep their pixels, so the PDF looks the same as the comic. The PDF is about the same size as the CBZ. Only WebP and AVIF pages, which PDF cannot hold, are saved as high-quality JPEG.
Will the pages be in the right order?
Yes. Page names are sorted the way people count, so page 2 comes before page 10 even without leading zeros, and pages inside chapter folders follow the folder order. A single picture named cover is placed first.
Can I convert a big comic or a whole volume?
Yes. The archive is read one page at a time, so even large volumes convert on an ordinary computer or phone. Free conversions take files up to 50 MB; bigger volumes need Pro or a one-time pass.
What about CBR files?
A CBR is a RAR archive, a different compression format, and this tool only reads ZIP-based CBZ files. If your .cbz is really a RAR file with the wrong name, the tool tells you so instead of producing a broken PDF.
How do I read the PDF on a Kindle or Kobo?
Copy the PDF to the device with its USB cable or send it to your Kindle with Send to Kindle. Every e-reader opens PDF, and each comic page fills one screen.
Is my comic uploaded to a server?
No. The CBZ is unpacked and turned into a PDF inside your browser, so your comics never leave your device. After the page has loaded it even works offline.
