MOV videos from iPhone and Mac
MOV is the QuickTime format from Apple. iPhones save videos as MOV when you transfer them to a computer, and Mac screen recordings and QuickTime exports are MOV too. They play well on Apple devices, but when you only want the sound, such as a speech, a song, a lesson or a funny moment, a whole video is heavy to keep and share.
This tool keeps only the audio as an MP3, which is much smaller and plays in any app, car or speaker. The conversion happens on your device, so even long videos do not need to be uploaded.

How do I convert an iPhone video to MP3?
Open this page in Safari on your iPhone, tap Select and choose the video from Photos or Files. Choose the quality and convert; the MP3 is saved in Files, in the Downloads folder.
Is MOV the same as MP4?
They are close relatives: both can hold the same kind of video and AAC sound. MOV is the Apple QuickTime version. For extracting the audio it makes no difference, and the result is the same kind of MP3.
Does the MP3 keep the full sound quality?
The sound in iPhone videos is AAC at a good quality. Converting at 192 or 320 kbps keeps it sounding the same in normal listening, while the file becomes a fraction of the size of the video.
