How the CSV is converted
The first row is read as the header, and every following row becomes a JSON object with those headers as keys. Commas, semicolons and tabs are detected automatically, which matters for CSV files exported from Excel in countries that use a comma as the decimal separator.
Numbers and true/false values are converted to real JSON numbers and booleans, so you do not have to clean them up afterwards. Empty lines are skipped. Customer lists and internal exports never leave your computer, which keeps you on the safe side of data protection rules.

How do I convert a CSV file to JSON?

Does it work with semicolon-separated files?
Yes. The separator is detected automatically, so files that use commas, semicolons or tabs all work. That covers CSV exports from Excel and Google Sheets in any language setting.
Are numbers kept as numbers?
Yes. Values that look like numbers become JSON numbers, and true or false become booleans. Values with a leading zero, such as phone numbers, postcodes or IDs like 0812, stay as text so no digit is lost. Everything else stays as text too.
Is it safe to convert files with customer data?
Yes. The conversion runs entirely in your browser and the file is never uploaded, so personal data stays on your computer. That makes it suitable for customer lists and exports covered by GDPR.
