Excel to PDF in 3 steps

  1. Select your Excel file (XLSX, XLS or ODS), or drop it on the box.
  2. Choose one sheet or all sheets, and the page size.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and download the file.

A spreadsheet that prints properly

Sending a spreadsheet as a PDF means everyone sees the same numbers, nobody can change a formula by accident, and it opens on any phone. The converter takes the values exactly as Excel shows them, with number, currency, percentage and date formats, and lays them out as a table with grid lines, merged cells, cell fill colours and numbers aligned to the right. Empty rows and columns around the data are left out, and the header row repeats at the top of every page.

Wide sheets switch to landscape and the text gets slightly smaller so more columns fit; sheets that are still too wide are printed in blocks of columns, the way Excel prints them. Charts, pictures, comments and conditional formatting are not included, and each sheet holds up to 10,000 rows. For a print area or page breaks set up carefully in Excel, Save as PDF in Excel keeps them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert Excel to PDF so it fits on one page?

The converter fits the width for you: wide sheets go to landscape and the text is reduced up to about a third so the columns fit. Very wide sheets are split into blocks of columns. Long sheets simply continue on the next pages with the header row repeated.

Can I convert all the sheets of a workbook?

Yes. After choosing the file, pick All sheets in the Sheet list. Each sheet starts on a new page with its name above the table. Hidden sheets are skipped, and you can also choose a single sheet by its name.

Are formulas and number formats kept?

The PDF shows the result of each formula with its format, exactly as you see it in Excel: currencies, percentages, dates and thousands separators. The formulas themselves are not visible in a PDF, which is usually what you want when you send figures to someone.

Does it work with Google Sheets and LibreOffice files?

Yes. Download the Google Sheet as XLSX or ODS first, then convert it here. LibreOffice Calc files (.ods) and old Excel 97-2003 files (.xls) are read directly.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded to a server?

No. The workbook is read and turned into a PDF inside your browser on your own device, so price lists, customer data and payroll figures are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Once the page has loaded it even works offline.
