Rotate PDF in 3 steps

  1. Select one or more PDF files, or drop them on the box.
  2. Choose the direction: clockwise, counter-clockwise or upside down.
  3. Click Rotate PDF and download the corrected file.

Rotate a PDF and keep it that way

Most PDF viewers have a rotate button, but it only turns the view on your screen. Close the file and it is sideways again, and so is the copy you email. This tool changes the orientation stored in the PDF itself, so it opens the right way up on every device.

Scanned documents are the usual culprit: a page fed into the scanner the wrong way round, or a phone that guessed portrait instead of landscape. The rotation is lossless, so text, images and links stay exactly as they were.

Frequently asked questions

How do I rotate a PDF and save it?

Select your PDF, choose the direction and click Rotate PDF. The new orientation is written into the file, so when you download it, it opens the right way in every viewer, on every device, and for everyone you send it to.

Why is my PDF upside down or sideways?

Usually because the page went into the scanner the wrong way, or because a phone camera saved the photo with the wrong orientation. The content is fine; only the page rotation is wrong, and that is exactly what this tool fixes.

Can I rotate just one page?

This tool rotates every page of the file by the same angle. To fix a single page, use Split PDF, rotate that page here and join everything back with Merge PDF. Rotating individual pages in one step is on our list.

Can I rotate a PDF by less than 90 degrees?

No. The PDF format only stores rotation in steps of 90 degrees, so 90, 180 and 270 are the only real options. Straightening a slightly skewed scan needs image editing rather than page rotation.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The tool runs inside your browser on your own device, so your files are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Once the page has loaded you could even disconnect from the internet and it would keep working.
