Scan Document to PDF in 3 steps

  1. Photograph each page from straight above, on a darker table, in good light, and select the photos in page order.
  2. Choose colour, grayscale, or black and white for text-only pages.
  3. Click Scan to PDF and download one PDF with all the pages.

A scanner in your browser

A photo of a document is not a scan: the paper looks grey or yellow, there is a shadow from your hand or phone, and the table shows around the edges. Forms, landlords and offices notice. This tool cleans each photo the way a scanner would. It finds the sheet against the darker background and cuts the rest away, evens out the light so the paper becomes white, and makes the writing dark and sharp. Black and white gives the cleanest, lightest file for typed or handwritten text; colour keeps stamps, signatures in blue and highlighter.

Pages go into one PDF in the order you select them, each as wide as an A4 page, so a long receipt stays long. For the best result, hold the phone straight above the page so the edges are parallel: the tool does not correct a strong slant. The photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded, which matters for IDs, contracts and medical papers. If the PDF must be under a size, run it through Compress PDF afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a document with my phone without an app?

Take a photo of each page from above, open this page in your phone browser, select the photos and tap Scan to PDF. You get a single PDF with white pages and dark text, without installing anything.

Why is there still some table at the edge?

The paper is found by its brightness. On a white or very light table, or with the page photographed at an angle, the edges cannot be told apart. Put the paper on a darker surface and hold the phone straight above it.

Which colour mode should I choose?

Black and white for typed letters, forms and handwriting: it is the sharpest and smallest. Colour when the page has stamps, a blue signature, photos or highlighter. Grayscale is in between.

Are my documents uploaded?

No. The photos are cleaned and put into a PDF in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
