TXT to VCF in 3 steps

From a list of numbers to saved contacts
Each line becomes a contact. A line can be just a number (0812-3456-7890) or a name and a number in any order, separated by a comma, semicolon, tab or space (Budi Santoso, 0813 1111 2222). An email on the line is kept too. Numbers without a name are saved as Contact 1, Contact 2 and so on, or with the word you choose, so they are easy to find and remove later.
Repeated numbers are saved only once, which matters for lists copied from groups or order forms. Saving numbers as contacts is what makes WhatsApp and Telegram show those people and lets you add them to a broadcast list; add the country code (+62, +91, +55…) when your list has local numbers so WhatsApp recognises them.
Frequently asked questions
What should my text file look like?
One contact per line. Each line needs a phone number and can also have a name and an email, in any order. Empty lines are ignored, and a first line such as Name,Phone is recognised as a header and skipped.
How do I make a TXT file from my list?
Copy the numbers from wherever they are (a WhatsApp group, a spreadsheet column, a document) into Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on a Mac in plain text mode, or any notes app that saves .txt files, one number per line, and save it.
Will duplicate numbers create duplicate contacts?
No. A number that appears more than once is saved once, and the page tells you how many repeats were skipped before you convert, so you know the count of contacts you will import.
Can I choose how the contacts are named?
Yes. Write names next to the numbers in the file, or change Name for numbers without a name to something like Customer or Group A: the contacts are then saved as Customer 1, Customer 2 and so on.
Are my contacts uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and converted by your browser on your own device, so names, numbers and addresses are never sent to a server or stored anywhere. That matters when the list holds other people's personal data.
