Every tool on this page runs inside your browser. The PDF is read and written on your own computer or phone, so contracts, payslips, medical letters and IDs are never uploaded to a server. That is also why the tools start instantly and keep working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.

Which tool do I need?

To send a scan that is too big, use Compress PDF and pick a target such as Under 200 KB. To type on a PDF, for example to fill in a form, use Edit PDF. To copy text from a scanned page, run OCR PDF first and then PDF to Word or PDF to Text. If a PDF will not open at all, try Repair PDF before anything else.

Frequently asked questions

Are these PDF tools really free?

Yes. Every tool works without an account, without a watermark and without a daily limit, for files up to 50 MB. Pro, which is optional, raises the limit to 500 MB and 200 files at a time for people who process large batches.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. The PDF is processed by code that runs in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers or stored, which is why the tools are safe for private documents and still work after you go offline.

Do I need to install Adobe Acrobat?

No. Merging, splitting, compressing, converting, signing and editing all work in any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. There is nothing to download or install.
