TIFF to PDF in 3 steps

  1. Select your TIFF or TIF files, or drop them on the box.
  2. Put them in the order you want the pages to appear.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and download the file.

Scans and faxes, ready to send

Scanners, fax software and document archives often save pages as TIFF, frequently with several pages in one file. Few people can open those, but everyone can open a PDF. The converter puts every page of every TIFF into a single PDF, in the order you choose, and uses the resolution stored in the file, so a page scanned at 300 DPI comes out at its real A4 or Letter size.

Black-and-white scans and faxes are stored without loss so the text stays crisp, while colour and grey pages are compressed as JPEG to keep the PDF small. The pages are images, so the text in them cannot be selected or searched; that would need OCR.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a multi-page TIFF to PDF?

Select the TIFF and click Convert to PDF. Every page of the file becomes a page of the PDF, in the same order. Select several TIFF files to combine them all into one PDF, and use the arrows to set the order of the files.

Will the PDF pages have the right size?

Yes, when the TIFF records its resolution, as scans do. A letter scanned at 200 or 300 DPI becomes a page of the original paper size. Files without that information are placed at 96 pixels per inch.

Is the text in the PDF searchable?

No. A TIFF is an image, so the PDF contains pictures of the pages. Making the text searchable requires OCR (optical character recognition), which this tool does not include.

Will black-and-white scans stay sharp?

Yes. One-bit TIFFs, the usual format for faxes and document scans, are stored losslessly as PNG inside the PDF, so the text stays as sharp as in the original and the file stays small.

Is my TIFF uploaded to a server?

No. The pages are decoded and put into the PDF inside your browser on your own device, so scanned contracts, faxes and medical records are never sent to us or stored anywhere. Once the page has loaded it works even offline.
