What cropping a PDF really does
Cropping helps when a PDF has huge white margins that make the text tiny on a phone or e-reader, when a scan caught the edge of the scanner lid, or when you only need one chart or table from a page. You see the page, drag a box over the part to keep, and every page gets the same crop, or only the page you are looking at.
The tool changes the visible area of each page (its MediaBox and CropBox), the same way Adobe Acrobat crops. Text stays text, so it can still be selected and searched, and the quality does not change. Content outside the box is hidden rather than erased, so do not rely on cropping to remove confidential information: anyone with a PDF editor could bring it back.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a PDF for free?
Select your PDF, drag the box over the area you want to keep and pull its corners to adjust it. Choose whether the crop applies to every page or only the current one, then click Crop PDF and download the result. No account and no watermark.
Can I crop just one page of a PDF?
Yes. Go to that page with the arrows under the preview, set the box and choose "This page only". The other pages keep their original size. To crop several pages differently, run the tool again on the downloaded file for each page.
Does cropping make the file smaller?
Usually not. The parts outside the box are hidden, not deleted, so the file stays about the same size. If you need a lighter PDF to email or upload, run it through Compress PDF after cropping.
Is the cropped content permanently removed?
No. Like Acrobat, the tool only changes the visible area of the page, so the hidden content is still inside the file and a PDF editor can reveal it again. To remove sensitive text for good, you need a redaction tool instead.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The preview and the crop both happen inside your browser on your own device, so the document never leaves it and nothing is stored. Once the page has loaded, the tool even keeps working without an internet connection.
