Open-source software
Our tools are built on open-source libraries: pdf-lib (MIT), PDF.js (Apache-2.0), fflate (MIT), Papa Parse (MIT), docx (MIT), wasm-media-encoders (MIT) with the LAME MP3 encoder (LGPL-2.0), SheetJS Community Edition (Apache-2.0), qpdf (Apache-2.0, via qpdf-wasm, ISC, which includes libjpeg-turbo and zlib under their own permissive licences), heic-to with libheif (LGPL-3.0), fontkit (MIT, via @pdf-lib/fontkit), marked (MIT), js-yaml (MIT), UTIF.js (MIT, via utif2, with pako, MIT), Mediabunny (MPL-2.0) and gifenc (MIT). Documents converted to PDF use the Carlito, Arimo, Tinos and Cousine fonts (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
The HEIC converter and the MP3 encoder are loaded as separate, unmodified files. Their source code is available at github.com/hoppergee/heic-to, github.com/strukturag/libheif, github.com/arseneyr/wasm-media-encoders and lame.sourceforge.io. The video tools use Mediabunny without modifications, under the Mozilla Public License 2.0; its source code is available at github.com/Vanilagy/mediabunny.
The OCR tools (OCR PDF, Image to Text) use Tesseract.js and tesseract.js-core (Apache-2.0), which contain the Tesseract OCR engine (Apache-2.0) and the Leptonica image library (BSD-2-Clause) with libpng, libtiff, zlib and other image libraries under their own permissive licences, plus idb-keyval and wasm-feature-detect (Apache-2.0) and zlib.js, bmp-js, is-url and regenerator-runtime (MIT). Their language models are the Tesseract project's tessdata_best models (Apache-2.0), in the integer versions published as the @tesseract.js-data packages; they are served unmodified from this website. Source code: github.com/naptha/tesseract.js and github.com/tesseract-ocr/tesseract.
