- Photograph the front and the back of your Aadhaar close up, then select the front first and the back second.

Photos that give a clean copy
Lay the card on a dark, plain surface so its edges stand out, and shoot from straight above in daylight. Fill most of the frame with the card. If there is a lot of table around it, crop each photo to the card edges with Crop Image first: for the real-size layout the whole photo is scaled to 85.6 × 54 mm, so any table left in the picture makes the card smaller on paper.
Avoid the flash, which leaves a white glare over the hologram and the QR code. A slight tilt of the phone is better than a glare spot right on your number.
Real size or large
The plastic PVC Aadhaar fits in a wallet like a bank card, so the real-size layout prints a page that looks like a photocopy from a shop. Print it at 100% or Actual size, never Fit to page. The cut-out from the paper Aadhaar letter is not always the same shape; for it, or when the copy will mostly be read on screen, A4 PDF, large makes the text easier to read. For WhatsApp or forms that only accept images, the Layout menu also offers One JPG image.
Share less when you can
An Aadhaar copy with the full 12-digit number can be misused if it ends up in the wrong hands. UIDAI offers masked Aadhaar, where only the last four digits are visible; you can download it as e-Aadhaar from the UIDAI site and it is valid like the card. Where a private business only needs to confirm who you are, offer the masked version. Many people also sign the copy and write the purpose and date across it, for example "for SIM KYC only"; ask whether the office wants that.

The first four letters of your name in capitals followed by your year of birth, such as SURE1990 for SURESH KUMAR born in 1990.
Can I make a JPG instead of a PDF?
Yes. Choose One JPG image in the Layout menu and both sides come out in a single picture.
Is my Aadhaar uploaded to your site?
No. The page is made in your browser on your own device and nothing is sent to us.
